What is Debt Consolidation

How the Program Works

You will be asked to complete an application which will include your personal information, your unsecured debt accounts and a budget. One of our certified credit counselors will review your application and discuss possible solutions to assist you in becoming debt free.

If you decide that the debt management program is the best choice for your situation then your counselor will provide you with the necessary information to complete the enrollment into the program. At that point we will contact your creditors to let them know that you will be working with CCMS.

When CCMS provides you with your personalized debt management plan, there are a few things to remember:

All of your unsecured debt can be included in the plan. Secured debt, the money you owe on items held as collateral by creditors, like the title to a house or car cannot be included. Your credit card accounts included in the program will be closed during the period you are on the plan.

Once you are on the plan, you only make one payment to CCMS each month, and we disburse the funds to your creditors. If credit collectors continue to contact you, simply contact one of our credit counselors and we will assist you in stopping further contact.

Upon successful completion of the plan your credit report will indicate that your accounts have been paid in full.
